Similar to the commit hooks are the revprop change hooks. As you learned in 2, revprops are pretty much the only data in a Subversion repository that isn t versioned. As a result, you actually have to specifically set up a pre-revprop-change hook script to allow revprops to be changed. If you don t, any attempt to change them will always fail. As with commits, there are both pre-revprop-change and post-revprop-change hooks, and they re run before and after the change occurs, respectively. The path to the repository, the revision, the user who is trying to modify it, and the name of the property are passed as arguments to the pre-revprop-change hook. The property value is passed in as the script s standard input. If the hook exits with anything other than a 0 exit value, the prop change won t go through. The post-revprop-change hook receives the same arguments, just without the property value, as the value is now available inside the repository, so if the hook needs it, it can use svnlook or some other equivalent utility to get it.
